Boulder County Film Commission Add-A-Listing To Our Directory

There are three levels of listings to choose from in the Film Commission Directory. The free, basic listing is a great way to start to get your name out there and get noticed! However, one of the paid listings might be an inexpensive way to help spread your marketing efforts to a wider audience.

For example, if you’re a freelancer and have a website, and you’re trying to get the word out about your business, one of the premium listings in the Boulder County Film Commission Directory might be a better fit for you, as it will increase your website’s SEO, as well as letting viewers of the Directory learn more about your services right away, especially if they’re in a hurry to find someone.

Our top level in the Directory is those people or businesses that we’ve personally vetted. If you’ve got the skills, and some experience behind you, consider being vetted by the Film Commission!

Your premium and vetted listings help support the Boulder County Film Commission to:
– Advocate for public policy that welcomes production activity, including better state incentives, easier permitting processes, etc.
– Actively pursue media production business that benefits the local economy and creates jobs.
– Provide a one-stop-shop supporting local, national and international filmmakers, including scholarships to underserved filmmakers.
– Connect local cast, crew, and vendors directly to production work.

The Vetting Process

Oftentimes, the Film Commission is asked to directly recommend local crewpeople. Rather than simply refer them to only people we already know, our vetting process allows us to get to know many more people in the industry that we can then recommend personally. To be vetted by the Boulder County Film Commission, individuals and companies need to successfully go through the following process:

1. After paying for a Vetted listing, you’ll receive a link to schedule your appointment. At your appointment, a representative from the Boulder County Film Commission that is a professional filmmaker, typically the Film Commissioner himself, will visit you at your studio or office, and spend 30 to 60 minutes in conversation, discussing a wide variety of topics related to your professional production experience.

2. If you have production equipment, a studio, rental gear, etc, we’ll take a look and get a sense of what you’ve got and what kind of condition it’s in. No problem if you rent gear and don’t have any of your own; it’s quite common, and we understand.

3. At the end of our evaluation, if we feel that you’ve successfully demonstrated proficiencies in the following categories, then we indicate in the Directory that you’ve been vetted by the Boulder County Film Commission:
       – As a collaborative crewmember, that you have the ability to communicate well in either English or any other language.
       – That you were professional in our correspondence and during our appointment, including being punctual.
       – That you demonstrated skills and knowledge during our evaluation that leads us to believe that you know what you’re talking about.
       – Overall, we feel like you’d be a good fit on a crew.

4. If, for any reason, the vetting was unsuccessful, you will retain a Premium listing, and the monetary difference will be promptly refunded to you.
