This new in-person budgeting class will get you up to speed in creating your own film and video budgets, as well as unlocking some of the mysteries of scheduling, and is taught by award-winning filmmaker Meryem Ersoz.

Producing Reality TV Masterclass

Saturday, June 15 | 1 – 5 pm 

On June 15th, the Boulder County Film Commission presents Reality Check: A Producer’s Crash Course in Reality TV Production, where you’ll learn the ins and outs from Tim McOsker, the former producer of “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives”. The class is limited to only 20 participants

Advanced P.A. Masterclass

Saturday, March 9 | 9 am – 5 pm 

This hands-on workshop is perfect if you’re a current or aspiring PA (Production Assistant) wanting more skills and experience! Since many PAs have never worked with certain kinds of lights or other on-set tools, this day-long class is presented by the Boulder County Film Commission and taught by industry professionals that have honed their skills over years; the class is tailor-made to get you knowledgeable and familiar with essential tools of the trade. Boulder County Film Commission Winter Schmoozer

Hang out with the Boulder area’s Film & Creative Community for an exciting evening of live music and great networking!

Join the Film Commission on Thursday February 8th at 5pm at Roots Music in Boulder to meet fellow filmmakers and artists, listen to some great live music for film, hear about job opportunities in the creative industry, and hear from working professionals about what it’s like out there! Fall Schmoozer

The Boulder County Film Commission’s next big event takes place on September 13 at 5pm at the new Niche Event Space in north Boulder – join us to help celebrate the creative industry in Boulder! Time for networking, and featuring keynote speaker Marc Sotkin, the award-winning Producer and Head Writer of The Golden Girls and Laverne & Shirley, who will regale the crowd with some fun behind-the-scenes stories, as well as modern tales of what it takes to be a showrunner! Creative Industry Night

Join the Boulder County Film Commission at eTown on Wednesday May 17th and meet your fellow filmmakers, photographers, and designers! If you’re inspired, get up on stage for 60 seconds to let the crowd know you’re looking for collaborators on a project, or maybe you’re hiring – this is the perfect target audience. We’ll have raffle prizes, drinks and light hors d’oeuvres, lots of opportunities to make some new contacts, and a short presentation by award-winning filmmaker Katrina Miller! 

“Intro to PA” Workshop for High School Students

If you’re a high school student interested in filmmaking, check out our exciting “Intro to PA” workshop we’re holding on Saturday March 4th at 11am as part of the Boulder International Film Festival! During this 2-hour workshop, specifically for high school students that are interested in working on film/video sets, we’ll give participants an introduction to the basic skills for working on set as a PA (Production Assistant). The instructor, award-winning filmmaker Tom Parkin, has been working in the film, TV, and video production business since 1994, in roles from Production Assistant all the way up to Director. He’ll be sharing his many years of experience, so high school students can help start their careers with a solid knowledge of the ins and outs of being a successful PA! The cost is only $10; students need to register ahead of time to reserve their seats; scholarships are available.

Join us for another exciting (and free!) night of schmoozing with film and video professionals. Enjoy food and beverages, raffle prizes, demo gear to play with, and hear from the Colorado Film Commissioner, along with award-winning filmmaker Meryem Ersoz. Join us for a fun schmoozer at Junkyard Social Club as we celebrate our talented filmmaking community here in Boulder and Boulder County and launch our new website and free directory!
