FILMED IN BOULDER

Boulder is both this film’s setting and a real shooting location, though a brief one. The company worked in the city for roughly five days in the summer of 2005, while the bulk of principal photography ran in Vancouver that spring and summer. Those few Colorado days bought the picture its identity.

The Pearl Street Mall appears with its street musicians, The Sink on 13th Street hosts a phone call under its red awnings, a house on Grant Place between Baseline Road and College Avenue stands in for the shared house, and Maureen stays at the since-closed Silver Saddle Motel on West Arapahoe. Celestial Seasonings on Sleepytime Drive supplies the exterior of the workplace belonging to Kevin Smith’s character. Susannah Grant set the story here partly because her sister lives in Boulder.

ABOUT

Gray Wheeler’s wedding day becomes her fiancé’s funeral, and with no home and no plan she ends up sharing a house in Boulder with two of his closest friends. As she works through what he left behind, she discovers that the man she was about to marry had kept a good deal from her, including the reason a stranger keeps turning up in town. Grief, mismatched roommates and a badly timed attraction all crowd into the same small house.
