East Boulder Community Park

East Boulder Community Park is flat, open parkland in southeast Boulder, beside the East Boulder Community Center. It reads as a present-day sports park: two artificial turf fields, each 82 by 126 yards, smaller multi-use fields, tennis, handball and basketball courts, four sand volleyball courts, a playground and shade shelters.

South of the courts lie a pond, natural lands and a fenced dog park, with the Flatirons on the western skyline. The City lists parking, a year-round restroom and multi-use paths. City parks close from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Eight tennis courts are planned for the south end; construction is expected from fall 2027 to summer 2028. The Howard Ditch, hand dug by settlers in the winter of 1859-60, crosses the site.

City of Boulder Parks and Recreation manages the park. Filming needs the City film permit from the Office of Special Events, filed at least 14 days ahead, and liability insurance ($1 million per occurrence, $2 million aggregate) naming the City as additional insured. The permit bars filming where organized sports are under way, gives scheduled events priority and keeps vehicles to designated roads and parking areas.
