FILMED IN BOULDER
Boulder is one of the eight stops in this series and fills a single episode: the sixth, released on Max (now HBO Max) on June 22, 2023. It was filmed in early April 2022. The Boulder Theater is on screen only for a few seconds, as downtown scenery, and its marquee advertises a concert booked for April 6 of that year.
The episode opens at Wildsong Ranch near Longmont, where the four New Yorkers learn to lead horses with the foothills behind them. The speed-dating round the show calls Date Zero was filmed in License No. 1, the basement cocktail lounge of the Hotel Boulderado. Kris’s solo date is at the Boulder Dushanbe Teahouse on 13th Street, and Reagan and Kesun share a double date hiking the Crown Rock Trail on Flagstaff Mountain. Not everything in the Boulder episode is Boulder County: Ash’s date, at a drag show, was filmed at Lucid, a Denver bar.
ABOUT
Ash, Kesun, Kris and Reagan, four single New Yorkers with little luck dating at home, agree to go out with whoever the show’s producers find for them on the apps. They travel together to eight American cities from Asheville to Honolulu, usually meeting a round of locals for half-hour speed dates before choosing one for a longer outing. Its makers call it a rom-doc, and it follows the friendship that grows among the four alongside the romances.
